Two of your total 26 hours of continuing education to meet Florida requirements for licensure must be a course relating to laws and rules for occupational therapy, i.e., chapters 120, 456 and 468 Part III, Florida Statutes, and chapter 64B11, Florida Administrative Code.

Purpose and Objective
  • Understand the relationship of the laws found in the Florida Statutes and the rules of the Board of Occupational Therapy Practice to your license.

  • Identify the roles of the professional organizations and the Board of Occupational Therapy Practice.

  • Examine the laws concerning occupational therapy found in the Florida Statutes, Chapters 456,120 and 468, Part III.

  • Understand and comply with the rules that govern occupational therapy found in the Florida Administrative Code, Chapter 64B11.
