Parkinson's disease affects every phase of the patient's life. Daily life is hampered by multiple ons/offs, highs/lows, stops/goes. It is a difficult disease to navigate through the various drug complications, disease variations, and mobility limitations. With an understanding of the disease process and knowledge of the available treatments, you can better assist with problems of mobility, drug side effects, eating, communication and others. Late stages of Parkinson's disease will be highlighted. There is a lot to understand, and a lot of teach. Your knowledge can make a real difference.
 
Purpose and Objective
 
  • OBJECTIVE NO. 1: Correlate the signs and symptoms with the disease pathology.


  • OBJECTIVE NO. 2: Evaluate drug therapy; the actions, side effects, interactions and reactions.


  • OBJECTIVE NO. 3: Formulate care approaches to improve the quality of life.


  • OBJECTIVE NO. 4: Provide therapeutic support for the families as they cope with the long-term effects of continuing progressive disability.
